LAGVINARI

Lagvinari is a small, organic winery in Georgia, founded by Dr. Erekle Glonti, former medical doctor and geologist turned wine maker.

Dr. Glonti works closely with local, artisan grape growers, uses autochthonous grape varieties and the ancient Georgian wine making technique of making wine in qvevri to support sustainable Georgian farming and preserve its rich cultural heritage.

Georgia's traditional wine making method of fermenting grapes in earthenware, egg-shaped vessels known as qvevri has been added to the world heritage list of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

At the moment, Lagvinari is listed in many top end restaurants and wine shops, including Hedonism in London.

Lagvinari is currently exported to the UK, Norway, Switzerland, USA and Ukraine, and in 2016 Italy, Japan and China are set to join that list.
